Once the DC at Michigan went to Baltimore you knew he was coming back and to an NFC team.

#37that DC coached under his brother John Harbaugh at Baltimore for 7 years before going to UM for just the one year as DC. i don't think it had anything to do with him looking at Minnesota.Originally posted by edawgOnce the DC at Michigan went to Baltimore you knew he was coming back and to an NFC team.
some of the best jobs out there in terms of best media markets (CHI and NYG) and best rosters available (Vikings) just happened to be NFC jobs. It's just coincidence IMO.Comment -

#39i am not a minnesota viking nor michigan wolverine fan, i am just a fan of Jim Harbaugh since watching him coach back in the Univ of San Diego (private school) days as the school is not far from me and i got to see his teams in person back in the mid 2000's and they were awesome to watch.Originally posted by edawgRelax guy your going to get him. #41I can see why Harbaugh would take the Vikings job. It's an iconic franchise that has never been able to win the Super Bowl. It has a huge loyal fan base and it is located out of the media glare. You can just be Jim Harbaugh in Minnesota. Nobody expects anything else. Plus he is probably getting total control. So it is his job.
He can do something that no one else has ever been able to do. That's Harbaugh.Comment -

#49W all the major markets (Chicago and NYG) and attractive landing spots in terms of roster (miami, Vegas, new Orleans and Minnesota), I am honestly shocked that harbaugh did not take one. He had his best run at Michigan and got shellacked in the playoff and I thought he was ready to go back to the big leagues. It goes to show that it's almost impossible to understand certain ppl. He is a different breed lolComment -

#50Harbaugh can coach but his ego makes working in the NFL hard for him. He had many issues with the front office in San Francisco and given that Zimmer and Spielman had trouble getting along I don't think Minnesota wanted to deal with him. He's a guy who wants complete control.Comment -

#55Strange Harbaugh “family farm” deal. After the Don Brown disaster, big brother John calls Jim. says I have this 33 year old LB coach: Mike Macdonald. he would make a good DC at Michigan on your coaching staff. now Macdonald never called a single play. Anywhere. Now he is DC at MIOriginally posted by edawgOnce the DC at Michigan went to Baltimore you knew he was coming back and to an NFC team.
granted he did a good job, but compared to what? Don Brown wrecked MI defenses for 4-years before Harbaugh woke up
Older brother John now saying Macdonald is a Raven, one of them, who he farmed out to learn how to call defensive plays to bring him back as DC
no doubt he knew his younger brother planned to leave MI for the highest bidder. That all fell apart, and now MI looks to regressComment -

#56The decision had nothing to do with money, someone obviously didn't want Harbaugh and his ego. The owners are billionaires, the difference between 4 and 8 million for a coach was not an issue.Comment -

#58Mcconnell is “discount aisle” replacement. Wilfs clearly do not know what they are doing. they gave a package deal to: Zimmer/Speilman with contract extensions. Connected both at the hip in a huge mistakeOriginally posted by edawgWilf didn't want to pay now their GM/Coach combination

Now they owe $56 million to not have neither guy work for the Vikings
You are on the mark, they are the joke of the league
Harbaugh wanted $10 million at a minimum

Miami should have made a run at Harbaugh when this news broke, now they have nobody either.

So Harbaugh bet on himself, and was going to either make up for it at MI with record breaking contract or in the Nfl. hard to see MI giving him the huge deal now, knowing he was a Viking until the wilfs money went awayComment -

#64I think the Browns just get extra third-round picks the next two years, Vikings don't lose picks. It's one of those new minority rules. But still an absolute steal for the Browns.Originally posted by edawgAdolfo is not even a football guy the biggest winner here is Andrew Berry the Browns GM getting picks from the Vikings for shipping this guy away he is laughing his ass off.
