Kid will go down as one of the most wasted talented tennis players of all time, so much potential and he just don't want to put the work in, sad but hey that's his life, rolls out of bed and makes 6-7 figures a year playing a sport.

#13Never understood the "wasted potential" narrative with him. Besides his 1st serve, what other weapon does he have? Hits a loopy, non-penetrating FH or flattens it out usually resulting in an UE. His BH he pretty much blocks back with horrible technique. There's a reason he never cracked the top 10 or made a Slam SF. (2-0 vs. Med in non-Slams & you saw what happened yesterday when it counts)Originally posted by WireWireKid will go down as one of the most wasted talented tennis players of all time, so much potential and he just don't want to put the work in, sad but hey that's his life, rolls out of bed and makes 6-7 figures a year playing a sport.Comment

#20Obviously I must not have a clue how someone as "talented" as him has never gotten past the 4th Rd of a Slam (he should excell in) after making the QFs as 19 yr.old. #21Partner the guy rarely practices, hardly ever plays I think he played 12 times last year? Rolls out of bed and can give the 2nd best player ON PLANET EARTH a run for his money, lol. He can easily be a top 5 player if he put in 3/4 of the work 99.9999999999999% of other top pros do. #22Pretty sure he put in the "work" in the 2018 AO when he had a golden opportunity to make the Final. Couldn't even beat Dimitrov who was playing with a bad shoulder, next 2 opponents would've been Edmund & Cilic before a Federer Final. Not putting in the work is simply his Built-in excuse to justify his lack of results.Originally posted by WireWirePartner the guy rarely practices, hardly ever plays I think he played 12 times last year? #23Hes never put in the work, they are saying that might have been his last Aus Open meaning he might be retiring after this year, and like i said that's his life he can do what he wants, but to say he has taken being a pro seriously and really put in the necessary work year in and out to be great is false.Originally posted by Doug tushyterrorPretty sure he put in the "work" in the 2018 AO when he had a golden opportunity to make the Final. #26Minny I remember Grigor's entire run vividly (had a 200 to win 10K parlay with him & Wozniacki to win the AO before I heard about his shoulder problems)..he barely beat McDonald 8-6 in the 5th with a shitload of DFs even for him..figured Kyrgios would be too much for him, but when he got past him I started to get my hopes up figuring Edmund shouldn't be a problem. Of course he got routined in 4 with Woz. winning it all to add to the misery. Bottom line is this: that was Nick's best shot to ever do anything in a Slam & he underperformed as usual.Originally posted by MinnesotaFatsDougy lol

#31Entertainment factor alone, Nick is must see TV. The crowd in that match was larger than any I have see except for a Barty match and it was in a smaller court and a doubles match. I only caught the 2nd set and it was hilarious and I had a hundy on the #1 seed live +210. He was in their heads than the crowd and than it was nail in the coffin. I almost lost it with the multiple between the legs underhand serve dekes to get the crowd going. They don't show much of the clowning around in this highlight of match. Keep in mind this was the best doubles team last year I think winning 8 titles. The #1s had no answers much like Team Russia with Med and and a no name partner destroyed everyone at the ATP cup earlier this month. Doubles is a great watch. I hope they go on to win and bring more attention for the sport.
