Joe Buck has a gig for two reasons, and one of them isn't because he's good.

a) He coat tailed his dad who actually had a shit load of talent.
He's lucky he's a Buck, if it wasn't for his father he's be a pencil pushing middle manager somewhere in the Midwest.

b) The Buck family has influential ties with Anheuser-Busch and Budweiser is one of the biggest sponsors of American televised sports.

I know of nobody from the casual fan up to insiders of the industry that sings the praises of Joe Buck.

So Mike Torico is going to do the Olympics and then fly in for the Super Bowl. Not sure how that works with Al Michaels. He'll also be hosting the Olympics while he's in the US.

Michelle Tafoya will do the Super Bowl and that's it-seems like that'll be it for Michaels too.

NBC is what elevated Brant Gumbel back in the day and that plagued the world with his BS for years. They also keep that other white guy whos name eludes me right now but you'll see him doing some stupid woke stuff during the olmpics in a week.

Tirico is lucky he's still employed with the antics he pulled 25 years ago with female co-workers. Read up on his history and you will be stunned. He never would have recovered from that stuff today. 20 years ago? He got a suspension and slap on the wrist from ESPN. He obviously cleaned up his act since then otherwise he/'d be gone.

I was working in Connecticut in media 25 years ago. One of the guys I worked with I heard went to Syracuse. I asked him about all the top broadcasters that came thru there and if he knew any of them. The one thing I recall him saying was "Mike Tirico is an asshole."

And this was the same time frame he was harassing female colleagues.

The black NFL players are better for TV. A lot of the white ones wouldn't have a job if they were hired based on their qualifications. You can't have a white announcer trying to telling you about the struggles of black NFL players making the teams when he had everything paid for him growing up by his parents. Gear, coaching practices, etc.

"Speak for Yourself" on FS1 may very well be the best talking heads sports show televised.
Wiley and Acho are outstanding.

Articulate, one is a Columbia Ivy League grad, both played high caliber NFL pro ball, personable, knows exactly what they are talking about at all times and humorous too.

Cowherd as a lead in is an added bonus.

Fox (the network) are trying to work them in too now.
