This is next level ridiculous, it's gotten to the point where you can't even win anymore without some sort of ramifications.

1) You really DON'T want to teach your players to turn it on/off. Give a good effort, let the score take care of itself.
2) In Wisconsin football, they instituted a Running Clock rule. If team is up 35+, the clock just runs to get to end of game quicker.
3) You do see these mismatch scores in Girls HS basketball. The inferior team sometimes struggles to even score a point.

In Little League they stuck the scrubs in right field in a blowout game.
I endorse the ten run 'mercy' rule.
If you're losing 16-2 at the end of the fourth inning, that's it, game over, you ain't overcoming that deficit.
If your team was half way decent you wouldn't be losing 16-2 in the first place.

Our 8th grade AAU team is ranked 3rd in the nation. There are no scrubs on the team. We've had several games where the other teams could barely score. You can call off the dogs early but when the talent disparity is glaring, there is nothing you can do, short of telling the kids to not play hard, which is the easiest way for someone to get hurt. Most tournaments have rules that once you're up by 20+ you can't press and the clock runs but that means nothing when you're playing a team that doesn't belong in the game. I've noticed a lot of Tic Toc teams that play in tournaments that have huge followings. We've played a few of them and most of them suck. But they have fun, pose for pics and don't care about the score. They're like a really bad Harlem Globetrotters. haha.

This opposing coach is a lil bitch. He's pointing a finger at the other team when 4 fingers are point back at him. You learn more from getting your ass kicked. Step up your game, program and prepare your team better. He's the one that should be suspended for not adequately coaching his team. The entire world is being turned upside down. Who cares if you got blown out. I can't count the times I've had teams blown out. That's when the kids learn the most. Prepare to be pressed, bullied, harassed and adjust to the speed of the game. I had a team once that was 80% Asian, short, couldn't dribble, shoot or pass the ball. By the end of the season, they were the last team you wanted to play. They would harass you the entire game. They got tough as nails and would box out and push much bigger kids around. They got game tough by being blown out early in the season. That's sports. WTF?

I've seen some really bad HS teams here in Houston this year. I saw a team a few weeks ago that our 6th grade team would demolish. How does that happen? That points to coaching. Teach fundamentals, work ethic, toughness. This coach is teaching his girls to be cry babies, zero resilience, work ethic, will power. He should be embarrassed for his whining.

Lipka told Hearst Connecticut Media on Tuesday the "coach has control over the final score. You can sit in the zone. Your man-to-man doesn’t have to come out past the 3-point line. They were still running fast breaks in the fourth quarter on long outlet passes.”

I don't get the demeaner of the losing team. If my team was getting whopped that bad, I would start playing my heart out to point of fouling out or getting in a fight from being too physical.
