I'm usually in agreement Jibs. Dana in no way put the UFC on the map. It was the original owners of the UFC that put it on the map. Our famous thieves of money would not allow it to be televised. It was "Banned". Until the day the thieves owned "complete" control of the sport was it then suddenly allowed to go Mainstream. It was a complete blackball job by all of them.

I was tuned in to all of the original UFC's. No time limit. No pulling of the groin. No eye gouging. Let's go!

Fight 3 or 4 times in a night. He toned it down and made more suitable for TV. I will say that about him.

^ I also have been a fan since UFC #1. I've watched every event since then and bet on them too. Those were some brutal times in the beginning and I enjoyed them more then today. You just didn't know which martial art artist would win in fights until Royce Gracie emerged with his Jits ground game and dominated everyone.

Still Dana White is responsible for really putting MMA and the UFC on the map today and making it a legit sport now. Yes he was not the originator or early pioneer of the sport so you are correct about that though.

Tank was my dude. Get off the bar stool and rumble. Fook training, just wanted to tear your head off. It had some odd ones like Kimo. Those tourneys could last for several hours. I guess it was to brutal to televise.
