clay just has a lot more breaks of serve than grass/hard courts. so you need more to your game than just a big serve.

grass courts less breaks of serve

clay court is harder with more breaks b/c it fukks spreads and OU. Last week alone I can think of 5 matches where the player was serving for the match and got broken.

Not necessarily. It pays to ascertain the surface preferences of players when betting on tennis. An epic and eternal example is Nadal. We all know he is much better on clay than on other surfaces. The bookies even went as far as installing him as a massive -600 favorite against Federer in the finals of the 2019 French Open. But in their primes, Federer can never be an underdog to Nadal on grass. That's just to cite one prime example of surface preference.
