I remember a few years ago the Sun Bowl, some guy on Miami opted out and was giving the pre-game pep talk in the huddle before the game. The other players were looking at him like WTF? If you opt out, don't even show up at the stadium.

Since there is a replay of it on all the highlights I seen his teammates and coaches telling him to go down trying to take away his pick 6 moment. I’m glad he ran it back.

The thing about being a great Qb is that it’s all inclusive, it’s a total make-up of who you are. Pickett, the NFL QB would want to have a memory of him winning with his teammates ‘downloaded’ in his registry over being up in the box, and watching them lose. You don’t easily forget that I.e. it seeps into your subconscious.

It truly is. They were already well in FG range with a TO and plenty of time on the clock. A smart/good coach in that same situation does the following:
1) Run a screen pass
2) Run a draw play

Probably the draw play would be my first play but if MSU was still blitzing plenty than screen pass for sure. However, please, allow me to digress; I'm no coach right? I just tell these coaches what to do. If they do it they win, if they piss my ideas into the wind - they lose. In this case, that was a horrible decision to allow a 3rd stringer QB to throw a pick when you have a legit FG chance waiting.

No, sorry, this is NOT 20/20 hindsight either.
