Those 443 yards per game is ranked 27th in CFB. Not exactly top tiered offense which just proves my point. A lot of their points come from short fields from defensive stops. Nothing to be ashamed of. Defense is part of the game. But anyone that thinks this offense is a top 20 or top 10 offense is kidding themselves.

Don't forget that Kirby does not run the score to humiliate opponents so the 4th quarter the offense is running the ball 3 times and then punting. So the 443 yards are mostly produced in 1st half or 3rd quarter. If the games were tighter and the other team can give the ball to Georgia much deeper they will produce more offense. Most games they were up by 35 points at HT and the 2nd half were not trying to pad the stats.

Pavy - I never said they can ONLY score on a short field. Do you think I’m the only person who has said that UGA has probably the best defense we’ve ever seen in CFB but an offense that is somewhat suspect? They have 2 QBs for Pete sake. That should tell you something. Can either of them beat a top defensive team? I’m not so sure. Florida does not have a top defense but they held UGA to basically 9 points if you take away the boneheaded plays at the half. UGA waits for you to make mistakes. That’s what a good defense should do. They did it against UT too.

Bama is not nearly as good as they were a year ago. There defense is not as good as UGAs, their offensive line is a mess, so why are they less than a TD? I personally liked UGA by +14 but seeing this line makes me rethink. What am I missing? All I can think is UGAs offense or lack thereof.

If Bama gets in with 2 losses, the system will have to be scrapped. That would be totally ridiculous if they get in after a loss. Hell, I'm really hoping they lose because I don't like 1 conference getting 2 bids and I'm an SEC guy. The SECCG is a pseudo playoff. Win and you're in. I'd like to see UGA out if they lose Saturday but the committee would still put them in which I think is bullshit. This Saturday should be a playoff game.

Yes, according to the rules they would get in but in a perfect world, the SECCG should be a playoff game just like the other conferences games. It's really not fair for a team like Bama to beat UGA in that game and then have to probably beat them again. Sort of like when LSU beat Bama in the regular season several years ago, only to have to play them again and lost in the Championship game.

I really think Bama and UGA maybe the 2 best teams in the country but that doesn't mean I want to see them play again and again. Give another team a chance please.
