#36Yeah sorry I worded that terribly. I was gonna accept whatever number/sum you were willing to give out. Since you couldn’t I guess it’s a really large number. I also have the Sportsbook’s money, but try convincing JJGold this is something obtainable.Comment

#37During every half time they talk gambling odds in Canada.

During hockey games they have "sportsinteraction.com" plastered on the boards.

There is at least one gambling commercial during every commercial break.

This is going to be a massive problem in a few years.Comment

#38I wonder if the response will be to impose restrictions on maximum deposits. Which, of course, is stupid because it's all relative. $1,000 could be life0changing to one person while $100,000 is nothing to another.Originally posted by HappyGilmore18During every half time they talk gambling odds in Canada.

#39They are the same thing. Crack is cocaine, it’s just rocked up so you can smoke it. It’s funny how coke has this like designer reputation when anybody who has ****** with it knows that you can only put so much up your nose in one night before your sinuses are ****** up for days afterward. Nothing like taking a big ole hit of crack and then burying your face in a back hookers ass cheeks. Nothing like it on earthOriginally posted by HappyGilmore18Yes, but imagine a commercial asking you to try cocaine or crack? Comment Comment

#40Yes, and thousands of pregnant women used to smoke 2 packs of Red Marlboros a day. It was 'normal'. Their neighbors, and the Government approved of it. 50 years later, smoking is 'frowned upon' and brings in 100 bln a year for Uncle Sam.Originally posted by HappyGilmore18During every half time they talk gambling odds in Canada.

Today, Us/Canada are about 49 years away from legal/taxed betting cards being available 24/7 at about 10 million joints in every village that has a fuel station or a KFC. Same as with cigarette/alcohol availability today.

It's the exact same thing. It slowly kills you, just like many other things in life kill you. It's up to you to enjoy some aspects of gambling, smoking, drinking alcohol (as well as doing illegal drugs etc) but take it for what it is and don't let it control you.

You are being fed a new bad habit, and you have to control it. This is your government spamming you, asking you to spend rather than save your money offshore or under your matress. You don't smoke? Drink! You don't drink or smoke? Try day trading! Try online poker! Try scratch cards! State lottery! etc etc etc

A fool and his money is soon parted.

Whether you are a fool or not, is up to you. If you think gambling commercials will 'ruin lives' - think again. Compulsive people will pick up any new habit, gambling or otherwise, and end up ruining their lives anyway. Smart people will try it, stick with it if they are having harmless fun but realize it is becoming an issue an drop it.Comment

#42The worst part about gambling is that it changes the way you view games. Every single game you start to judge against the spread. The sport is ruined. That will be the biggest impact from gambling. Crowds will boo because a team does not cover the total in a game.Comment

I'd compare it to something like fast food where if you're hooked on it, and doing it regularly, it will take its toll on you. But it won't make you rob an old lady to get a fix the way the hard drugs doComment

People with compulsive personality disorders will always have issues, that has nothing to do with gambling. If gambling was illegal people would obviously still gamble anyways.

#53Totally agree that addictions to gambling and other things can make people do bad things, but you probably realized by now that prohibiting gambling or any other addiction, would not have prevented you or others to do it anyways - you're just gonna have to quit on your own, without help from government or anything else but your own will power.Originally posted by ThaWoji strongly disagree with this. ive done some really bad things to get money to gamble or to pay back debts. people kill themselves all the time due to gambling. ive fukkd up everything in my life 10x over due to gambling.
