Why would Alab even schedule this game?

They're never going to make the return trip. And there are plenty regional teams who would play them. Even good 1-AA teams are better challenges.

My one bit of logic on this is that Saban has very little motivation to put up a Cricket score:

1) Starters likely don't play deep into the 3rd qtr.
2) If you win 77-0, this team will never schedule you again.

These games shouldn't be played. There is a great risk of injury for the New Mexico St defense. The Alabama RBs are bigger than their LBs and the Alabama LBs are bigger than NM OLs.

Sad state of affairs for college football. Nick Saban should be better than this.

I understand why NEW MEX ST does it. The check on this game has to be big, funds a good portion of the athletic budget. Why would ALAB play this game?
