Id you trade your best player on defense in the middle of the season for picks next year that's a clear decision to not try and won this year, but my point wasn't that the Broncos players and coaches wouldn't play and coach hard, I'm saying that players aren't stupid and when they see the organization isn't trying to put the team in the best place to win right now it often impacts how they play. They obviously still try but the effort isn't always as strong.

They traded Miller for the Rams' draft picks... Playing lousy football or "tanking" does not increase the value of those picks. It is not a clear decision to "not try and win this year" it is simply balancing current needs with near future needs, which is what any sound enterprise looks to do. The Broncos are not SB ready like the Rams are so the trade made sense for both sides, but it's not an indication of anyone in the DEN organization throwing in the towel on this season.

See this is what I'm talking about. You have absolutely no clue what's going on. Miller would be gone next year, no question. Every other NFL team knows that. Trading him at the end of the year literally is worthless. Trade him halfway through the year, potentially get a steal pick and probably another starter. At least more depth.
