    Clay Helton will take GS to the next level
    Watch this progression....

    No pressure, great recruiting area, easy schedule.... guy will be a cover machine working back to top tier job

    Wow. They probably will not be running the option any longer which will be a negative. He might recruit better but not a real good coach. He could definitely elevate the recruiting though. Not an easy schedule playing in the Sunbelt. All those schools are really serious about winning. You've got Butch Jones, Clay Helton and Terry Bowden which is pretty unbelievable and those are not even your most committed schools.

      I would also not say no pressure. They fired the last coach after a season and a half.

          He is not recruiting out of California anymore at one of the richest schools in the country.

          Georgia Southern has had one good season in the last six years. They play a tough non-conference schedule. He will be lucky to average 7 wins.

            You are also adding Marshall, Southern Miss, Old Dominion and James Madison to the conference. That conference is going to be hell on a coach.

              They won 8, 7, 10 the last 3 years. This is not a dead program its borderline top 25, Helton wins 2 bowl games hea ba k in the Big10 or Pac12

                And that got the guy fired. They are under .500 in that timespan even with those seasons.
