#107I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that ALL cars in the US have to have flame retardant materials in the interior. That looked like the car was fuel of jet fuel. WTF?Originally posted by stevexVery good point. And that’s not just a tiny fire, the car was engulfed. I’m surprised car manufacturers haven’t invented some system to try and auto put out a fire after a collision.

Nascar has a small fire extinguisher in all their cars that the drive can use manually. I've heard of other race cars, including drag racers that have auto halon fire suppression systems. This shit makes me want to put a fire extinguisher in my SUV.Comment

His only hope is that he could come up with some type of settlement with her family, so they don't protest and come to his aid. Best outcome for them is for him to play in order to pay them a shitload by not going to jail. That's what happened in the Stallworth case. She's dead already. At least if he does minimal time, he could get back to football and pay the family. That's if they don't sue him for everything he already has, if he has anything?Comment

#112Turns out she was pinned in her car.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeThat Corvette is very light compared to the Toyota SUV. Simple math F=MA would suggest the Corvette would have absorbed most of the impact, especially being so low. 500 feet is relative. Was she at a stop, then yes that pretty far but if she was going 50 mph, that is pretty reasonable. Did she die on impact? Seems unlikely. Plenty of unanswered questions that will come out in the investigation. How did the car catch on fire so quickly? There could be a manufacturing defect? Not trying to absolve Ruggs by any means. #113This is getting more eerie.

When Tina Tintor crossed paths with Raiders star Henry Ruggs on Tuesday morning, both were just miles from their family’s homes.
Clark County property records show that Tintor and Ruggs have lived down the road from each other since at least April, when the once promising young football player purchased his $1.1 million home in the Del Rey Estates, about 3 miles north of the house that Tintor’s family has owned for nearly two decades.
Neither would make it home that morning.Comment

#114I really don't know the laws in Texas because they change every year. Most people think the gun laws are lenient but that's until you get into trouble. I was called into jury duty for a Hispanic man that was pulled over by the police. They found a gun in the back seat of the passenger seat. He borrowed the car from a friend and had no idea the gun was in the car. He was being charged for illegal gun possession. Most likely he had priors but they couldn't tell us.Originally posted by Booya711and this was Texas where gun laws are more lenient than anywhere

I spent an entire week with a jury made up of halfwit dumb ghetto, trailer trash. Jury of your peers? Good luck. The police screwed up the case from the beginning. They should have never pulled him over in the first place, it was an illegal search. They didn't ask if they could search the vehicle. They never took fingerprints or DNA on the gun to prove he touched it because they said it was too expensive to test. Half of the jury said he was guilty because he LOOKED guilty. Wow. It took a week to finally convince them that there was no real evidence to convict this man. Some of them were saying, let's convict him anyway, he'll just get a slap on the wrist. Well after the case ended, the attorneys came in and thanked us for our service. I asked the prosecutor, just for information, how much time would he been facing if we found him guilty. He said he would have gotten a minimum of 20 years with no parole. WTF??? Everyone was shocked.

Meanwhile one of the ghetto jurors who wanted to convict him had told me earlier in the week that she was a juror on another case and it lasted 6 months and she got PAID. I told her no way in hell are we staying here 6 months for this shit. She tried to drag the case on. I finally asked her how much money did she get for being on that jury. She told me, "We got paid, I made over $1,500". If you would have saw my face. I really wanted to slap that lady. 6 months for $1,500... This is who will judge you if you're ever in trouble.Comment

#115He should have to pay them every damn dime he makes minus living expenses. That's much better than rotting in a jail cell. The NFL would suspend him but if the family moves on, the NFL will move on. A lot of families wouldn't sell out for the money and some are very bitter and want him to fry. But if you step back and think about it, that really is the best decision for everyone involved unless he gets out and does more dumb shit, which is a possibility.Originally posted by DwightShruteInteresting post.

#118I worded this wrong. and so far he was only charged with 2 offenses, one being dui resulting in death. I'm pretty sure prosecutors are looking to charge him with more. It's possession of a gun under the influence which is normally a misdemeanor but I think can be elevated to felony during the commission of a crime. He had a gun while drunk, speeding which is in essence committing a crime.Originally posted by unde0087Mac, I haven't seen much on this and I don't know gun laws in Nevada but why is he getting a felony gun possession? I agree the bartender should be punished. Serving that many drinks to someone is just plain irresponsible. But a bartender in a venue like that has absolutely no way of knowing if the dude is gonna drive. It's one thing if the guy has his keys in his hand and says "Give me 10 more, then I'm gonna drag race out of here." But he's a pro football player, spending big money... if it were me, I'd assume this guy has a driver or at least a damn Uber. Now, I wouldn't serve him 18 drinks though.

The point is Ruggs should bear the overwhelming majority of the responsibility for this.Comment
