Like I told folks who said Jon Gruden will never, ever come back from being cancelled. This country is full of people who will forgive and forget. Unreal.

it was just a small group of fans behind him, cheering him on. most of them were drinking and not in their right minds.

behind the small group cheering, you can hear a large amount of jeering and boos. trust me. listen to it again.

MACker the thread title is extremely misleading.

it was a small group of fans sitting below his box seats, who were cheering him.

the VAST MAJORITY in the stadium who recognized him from a distance, were jeering and booing.

"30 second standing ovation" is misleading.

He sidestepped a clear double murder sentence but couldn't lay low, he had to go get busted again.

I think you underestimate the amount of people that still cheer for that lying, cheating, murderer. It is what it is. People are people and the US has the most forgiving people on the planet. We love to tear people down but once they hit rock bottom, we then feel sorry for them and will put them on a pedestal again. Jon Gruden didn't do 1/1000 of what OJ did. Gruden will be back eventually. He should be back.

Jibbby - I believe he did it BUT actually you would be surprised that a lot of innocent people do indeed run. I was amazed at that fact but (this was probably 20 years ago) I researched cases where people fled and like 40% were innocent. I think most people know when they did something and they get caught that they deserved to get caught but when you are totally innocent and you are facing serious jail time. Who wants to go to jail for a crime they didn't commit? That is hard to swallow.

But like I said, OJ knows he did it. He was just lucky to be in LA when EVERYONE mistrusted LAPD, rightfully so.

Even the greatest prosecutor of all time in the world would not have gotten a predominantly black jury to convict 12-0 once the fuhrman tapes came out.

It was payback for rodney king and was so much bigger than any person or anything else.
