Was Nebraska Moving To The Big Ten A Mistake?
The Cornhuskers eliminated all of their rivalry games. Nebraska was rivals with darn-near half of the Big 12 conference! Since Nebraska has joined the Big 10, they supposedly have rivalries with Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota, but they are nothing like Oklahoma and Colorado were.

The second reason why Nebraska leaving the Big 12 was a mistake, much greater than the loss of rivalry games, is recruiting.

While Nebraska has historically done a decent job of attracting nationwide talent, when the Huskers left the Big 12, they lost their recruiting pipeline in the state of Texas. Turner Gill, Rex Burkhead, and Heisman trophy winner Mike Rozier all hailed from the Lone Star State.

There is even a website which creates an “All-Nebraska” team, using only players who were from Texas, and the roster is quite impressive. Nebraska's All-Time All-Texas Team

Nebraska does not play teams from Texas anymore, and a talented recruit from Houston knows that it will be much harder for his family to travel to a game in Happy Valley, Pennsylvania, than it would be for them to travel to Austin.

        For who?

Not for the people that made the move or the people getting paid millions.

Nebraska might be in the SEC though if they had stayed.

Mistake! Especially now that Texas and Oklahoma are leaving. Nebraska is not that bad of a team. They compete and get close.

Nebraska used to be able to promise recruits they could not only play but, also win in the Big 12 (like punching a clock). Get a decent record every year.

I do not care who you beat but if you have a 7 and 1 record and have equal or less talent as a 5 and 3 team the confidence from the record is worth a lot if they play each other.

You know / build up some points and learn how to score against less talent. Now, that you know how to score, maybe, you can do it against top tier competition?

Not a mistake. The good teams are in the SEC now. The high school football in the SEC is superior to Nebraska. The problem with Nebraska is they need to move the school to the Southeast so they can recruit better players.

Yes, of course but the paycheck is better. Nebraska is another program dreaming of better days. Well, Bo Pelini gave you the best run outside of Tom Osborne and you fired his ass. Keep dreaming Nebraska... hard to recruit top talent to the middle of Nebraska and in the age of Social Media/Digital News you can't pay them and cover up their criminal activity like you did in the 70-90's. I enjoy the misery in Lincoln. Frost a delusional clown too.

The big ten would be better off if they could get rid of Nebraska and IA

Nebraska is not that far away. They need horses to ride at skill positions. If you could take the 6 best players from Alabama and put them on Nebraska? Maybe, they only have one loss this year?
