And I'm sure there are specialists in every area, I'm going to try to find them and get them to share, not their secrets, but more of the mindsets.

That can be just as important, if not more important, than a current working algo.

My only specialty is soccer. You can ask me if you have any questions. But I'm not a model guy, or lines movement guy. I will tell you who will win or who will not lose or if it's going to be a high scoring or low scoring game for example. But if you ask me for soccer why the line moved 20 cents and what this had to do with coach's game plan I would have no idea.

I agree with your thoughts for the US sports.

But for soccer it is different. You have to know what is the motivation of the team to get the result you are backing them. Look at the starting line ups to see how the coaches set up teams. Check who is starting and who is on the bench. Check the weather and the pitch conditions., etc.

A lot of times I place a bet 15 minutes before the game starts after I see a live picture of the pitch. If the pitch looks like a cow pasture I bet the under...I don't care what the line did the past 24 hrs.
