Nashy, if they teed up today, who would you favor in an 18-hole golf match? Romo vs Nance.
Nance was collegiate golfer at Houston w/ teammate Fred Couples. But Romo accomplished golfer in his own right. HS state champ in Wisconsin and attempted to qualify for US Open a few times.
Who is favorite? And how many strokes would u give?

I hear Romo is a beast on the course.
The couple of time I watched him in those pro-am tourneys on NBC you could tell he's got mad skills.
I read where he's a +1 handicap.
Nantz golf game I don't know about.
He talks about golf a lot, didn't realize he was that good.
He's from here (Ct.) down the I-95 a little bit from me in Greenwich.
Greenwich is so exclusive the PD will pull you over if your the wrong color of white.
Nantz I do know is loaded, filthy rich, CBS really took care of him boy.

I also think Romo is a poster here. He is great at calling plays after they happened.

I'm referring to Nantz here not Romo
He can chatter, there's bigger chatterboxes out there.
Thing with Nantz is he's got that monotone delivery.
Some network exec referred to him once as "Sir Sominex"

Common, Brock, LOL. We're forum handicappers.
I think Romo just signed an Announcer contract that might be the highest ever. At least highest ever per Game. I think his Annual is something like $18Million for about 20 games.
People like his play speculation. Mostly b/c he's usually right.

Dude I have been looking for a certain clip forever.
Early in his commentating career Romo was talking about a coach or player's wife and he said he love to visit, or something like that, because he loved her cream pies.
I swear he said it.
I just can't find it. Unfortunately, googling Tony Romo Creampie doesn't quite hit the mark.

Yet he was always wrong when he actually played. He is the complete opposite of superstar types. They can never coach after they play.

I know, when Diggs picked Mac Jones I thought Romo was going to jump out of the booth, 20 seconds later when Bourne broke that 75 yarder to put NE back ahead I really thought he was going to have a heart attack.
so you guys has never been to your fav team live games and have the up and down thing with your team???

Never liked Romo... a lot of posters do like him... (a few threads talked about his commentating skills).
He actually had his best year season 1... because he was nervous, cautious... almost afraid to say a lot of things. Which is good for a guy like his personality... he's too wild... extreme... no flow to his commentating.
Laugh all you want... but I enjoyed Dan Fouts over Romo. Fouts would get serious... and then throw in some raw (bar) humor out of nowhere... but never screwed up the flow of his commentating... and even made you laugh.
How Romo makes more money than Fouts at commentating... makes no sense... and everyone who's a color commentator should say... what does Romo do that I don't do? It's really a disgrace. Nantz just puts up with Romo.

If it weren't for Romo, we'd be forced to endure Phil Simms; he deserves the utmost respect for that alone.

Reminds me of a wannabe comedian turned broadcaster..Never cared for him. The Corona commercial fits him perfectly....feels like a guy with a beer buzz.

I can either take or leave Romo, he's OK enough, my point along being Romo yesterday totally forgot he's a paid analyst and went complete Cowboy homer fan-boy on us.
Yeah, Phil Simms is much to wordy, agreed, his kid Chris is actually worse.
For my money, and this is just me, the best two man booth is Al and Chris.
Many don't like Chris, I like him a lot.
Buck is the worst, making Buck/Romo the worst two man booth IMO.
I don't know a sports fan alive that likes Joe Buck.
Two reasons why he's where where he is.
His old man was one of the greatest (unlike his kid) and the Buck's have Budweiser connections.
Buck family has major Midwest clout.
Once again, just my opinion, Kevin Harlan is the best in the business.
