John Malkovich famously used this term in Rounders. That was a poker context of course. In relation to winning 30k off Matt Damon previously.
That’s all I have to say about that

Good catch tex. I think it we look back at Rounders in the context of jj's lexicon, we might be surprised at what we find. Oriole cookies for instance...Teddy KGB's favorite. What else did we miss???

Jake I actually quoted rounders yesterday in my money management post. “Grinding out rent money on your leather ass” or something to that effect.
An all time classic, flew under the radar a bit because it hit before the poker boom of the early 2000s and I think may have went over people’s heads a little but has obviously gained steam since then.
PAY THAT MAN HIS MONEY!! That’s a good one VYA.
I’m a big fan personally of the hot dog scene on the street and Worm explaining to Mike McD that he’ll never play the game straight up. “I see a mark, I take him down. That’s what I do, that’s the way I live”
Honestly I can’t think of much of JJ’s talk that’s in there offhand though.

Rounders probably one of the all time great gambling movies
And not truly a gambling movie The King of Greenwich Village is an underrated flick that never gets old

Hard to forget the Producers of DELIVERANCE lifting from jj's steam room squealing and escapades; hopefully they paid him more than a penny-a-squeal like he gets for a post, here.

Hey Gold, tell us again how it works. If you stick it in your flame bookie he he’ll pay you for that if you win, but if you stick it in your flame bookie and find yourself negative at the end of the week exactly how does that get settled?
We know how it goes on the West Coast. There’s a hub in San Francisco that makes and enforces the rules, they meet monthly at the Power Exchange, in one of the banquet rooms.
But how do you guys settle your negative flame bookie balance on the East Coast.

So when my guy told me he could stick it in 5 times, was he putting all 5k into one bookie or putting 1k into 5 bookies. And if it's the latter, what are the odds on or more of those 5 are categorized as flame bookies?
