Anybody betting the Fury fight tonight?

major prizefights pull in significantly more revenue (5x or more) than any other combat sport yes even UFC.

big boxing events still draw the biggest crowds and the record PPV numbers.

if you don't believe me, go and Google the top PPV events in combat sports in terms of number of buys and total dollars, in the USA.

probably 8 of the top 10 are boxing. probably 4 of those 8 involved mayweather.

I totally trust what you say so I’m not going to check but I would think Tyson’s fights would be up there in the PPV rankings.

Cant really call Wilder not congratulate fury after fight a major scandal. Like he just been in a major fight brawl against someone he really hates.

Believe it or not. No one can compare to what Money Mayweather brought in on PPV buys. People either loved him or hated him and more people would come out hoping to see him get his ass kicked. Mayweather has the top 4 PPV buys period. Much more than Tyson. I really think it's because access to PPV wasn't as easy in the 90's as it was in 2010's. Now with the advent of streaming and social media, who knows what guys like JPaul could bring in?? For example, Marshmallo had a live streaming event on Fortnite. Close to 13 million people tuned in live.

I'm curious to see how many PPV buys were for this fight. Fury/Wilder 1 got 430,000 buys, part 2 got 800,000. Most folks said estimates of 1.2 million for this one. That's pretty damn good.

These are all bigger than wrestling biggest PPV event ever. Fury/Wilder 3 could surpass that. Boxing is not dead folks.

I was in the 4th row of Tyson/Holyfield 1. That was the most electric atmosphere I've ever experienced to this day. Man, Vegas was lit whenever Tyson fought. I don't think the city has ever experienced the pageantry of a Mike Tyson fight. Money would flow into the city unlike anything ever.

Damn, that fight seems like just a few years ago. What's really crazy is that Tyson had beat Bruce Seldon just a few months prior in September. That was the same night Tupac got shot. Guys used to fight every few months back then. Tyson made 65 Million dollars in 3 fights, all lasting less than 3 minutes. Damn, time flies.
