Mikey take the Utes tomorrow night. ASU hasn’t played in cold weather yet. The best thing that could of happened for the Utes was benching Charlie Brewer and he left the program. Cam Rising his replacement is a good QB and it was a tight race during camp who was going to start. Whittingham said he chose Brewer as a result of his experience. Utes have been starving for a pac 12 title. Whittingham has been coaching this team for 18 seasons and he is the one of most underrated coaches in the country. Another angle I like is ASU already lost to BYU this year and Whittingham is a Provo native and played for the cougars in his college days. The head coach of BYU Kalani Satakki and Whittingham are very close and good friends. Kalani was Kyles D coordinator for years. They have some mutual opponents on the schedule this year and there is no doubt in my mind there will be at least one phone conversation between the two helping each other out with tips and strategies. The former Utes basketball coach Larry Krystoviak mentioned on air during his days as a coach up on the hill that he would exchange info with some of the California schools about mutual opponents and they were only his colleagues. Kalani and Kyle are both members of the church and you always help out your brothers in the church no matter what. I think the Utes are a better coached team and will have a much more in depth gameplan than ASU. Let’s face it, ASU is a party school. Arizona QB is from California and not used to the cold. Cam Rising is also from Cali but at least he has experienced the cold we have had up here for weeks. He gets to practice in it all week. I feel this game is essentially Utah’s PAC 12 championship and I am comfortable backing them in this spot.
