Washington Football will be 1st NFL team to host official Pride Night at a game

I think it's a good thing, as is support for military veterans, breast cancer awareness, and Hispanic heritage. It doesn't need to be done often but it lets everyone where the NFL stands on equality and social issues.

Well, when you think of it that way it not so bad...still annoying though, but I guess every minority wants a celebration day.

Takes away from the game of football. Politics and Gay Pride should not be implemented in the NFL and on the playing field.

Fans don't pay to go to an NFL game to see a gay pride parade bust out. There is a time and place for everything. NFL football games is not one of them for this. Same with BLM and kneeling.

The Washington Football Team welcomes the LGBTQ community for Thursday Night Football.

The Washington Football Team this Thursday will be the first NFL team to host an official LGBTQ Pride Night at a game when the club hosts the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football.

Teams from every other major professional sports league in America have already hosted an official Pride Night during a game. In part because NFL teams host so few games — only eight during the regular season — and because so many NFL teams sell out every game, few of them have had a Pride Night on the radar.

The Pride Night Out has come as Team DC completes its circle of pro LGBTQ nights in the Washington, D.C. area, having already hosted similar events with the Washington Nationals, Washington Mystics, DC United and others.

“It completes the full cycle for our pro teams for the pride night out series,” said Team DC executive director Brent Minor. “This was the one still standing outside the party room. For us, it’s good to now have a complete set. It’s an acknowledgement that there has been change.”

Best I found is that they have reserved tickets in certain sections for them to buy, will have some gay group perform, and a pregame buffet they can purchase admission to it. Nothing about coaches or players wearing pride gear or anything. I don’t know what there season ticket situation is but I would think they are sold out? I agree with stuff like this if you are trying to sell tickets. Maybe they have tickets set aside in case they are doing some kind of promotion but seems like a waste if you are able to sell out.

I agree with most you said here. The only thing we are divided on is......why do they have to shove this shit in my face? I mean we have black history month, gay pride, and all this other stuff. Now like you I agree no matter the color of your skin or your preference on sexual stuff shouldn't matter.........unless it gets shoved in my face. When is white month or straight month? It is fukin ridiculous. It is 2021, you do you. We don't need to have it shoved in our face. We are tuning into watch a football game not be subject to political agendas. Sports should be sports.
