pick to win: Nuggets @ +2500

team has a nice roster with plenty of playmakers, shooters and size. Markus Howard should run rampant and will be the best player on the court this summer IMO. they got hit with COVID right during camp so Im hoping lack of practice and touches doesn't hurt them too bad. they will be missing a few players in tonights game against Miami as well so something to keep an eye on.

      play #1: Hornets +6 -105 & ML +190 (half unit)

not sure what the Blazers are doing running a team with NBA veterans out there but the line is way too wide. Hornets have some bucket getters that can match Beasley with Riller & Bouknight. They also have a huge size advantage with four 7 footers on the team compared to Blazers biggest guy being the 6'9 Beasley. Vernon Carey should have his way down low if they play through him. I'll take the points and a piece of money line action.

if anyone likes hoops and can get down to Vegas Id 10/10 recommend attending. electric atmosphere with games going on all day and kids trying to make a name for themselves. went the past 2 events and I loved it.

Jalen johnson was a steal at pick 20. great selection by the Hawks. kid has a ton of upside and will fit well on that team.

Cavs already easing Mobley into playing the 4 by giving him minutes with Kabengele. Garland/Mobley pick and pop game will be nice but I have my worries about him and Allen on the court together long term. just an awkward fit.

very impressed with Bouknight's handle. has the ball on a string. maybe he can play some 1 in the future. he was getting double and triple teamed at Uconn so never was able to showcase his playmaking ability with proper spacing. extremely skilled player.

                            play #2: Thunder/Pistons O168 -110

totals are a tad bit too low. we are just getting some really bad shooting so far. both of these teams bring a lot of continuity from last season to their summer league rosters so that should ease some of the nerves and ball should move well. number 1 pick Cade Cunningham in action should be a great watch.

                              Theo Maledon or Josh Giddey?

                              Maledon easy for me.

Cade should study Harden tape to learn how to shift his weight more efficiently when driving to the basket. I think his lack of first step burst could lead to him struggling some in the 1st half or so of the upcoming season. hes used to just bodying guys.

Luke Garza just gave up 3 baskets in a row on the defensive end. his offensive ability does not make up for the huge deficit on the defensive end. not an NBA player.

Yeah that's the rap on him. Anyone with great p&r ability that struggles with 1on1 gets compared to Doncic by people who forget that they were wrong about Doncic in the first place -i.e Doncic is in fact a great 1on1 player. Gotta have strong 1on1 ability to be a star, no way around it.
