Its more contagious, quite a bit so. Which means transmission risks go up and ultimately more people bc infected, and more serious illness simply due to it being a numbers game. So the strain has more potential for more harm. Its a worse version than previous strains, the reason we're not seeing as much death is bc a large # of peeps are vaxxed, especially in more densely populated areas

This is correct and it seems to be more and more misunderstood.

For example, a "standard" contagion infects 100 people in the crowded room over some set time interval and we'll say 1%, or 1 person, that is infected will die.

Now if a contagion is twice as contagious, say it infects 200 people in the room at the same time interval as the first, but say it's less deadly, and only kills .5% of the infected.

With 200 people infected, 1 person dies in the scenario 2, the same as scenario 1.

Scenario 2 is more contagious, but less deadly to any one person, than scenario 1, but you can see how more people could still die in scenario 2.

This, along with stats citing the percentage of hospital patients by age, seem to be universally misunderstood. Or at leasy universally attacked by those with an agenda, exploiting any misunderstanding.

That's something I've noticed.
