They have a billion more people than we do and we're kicking ass with 21 more total medals than them and only 2 back in Gold medals. We might catch them today. Bottom line, a shitload of the Olympic events are in events WE SELDOM play in this country. Have you ever seen badminton, ping pong tourneys in the US? What about weight lifting matches or rifle, pistol, skeet shooting? These are fringe events that are not very popular in the US. You are not going to get rich playing these sports, if they can be called sports. How come no cornhole or bowling? The US would kick ass in those events.

2 back in golds with a few more events. The US is clearly the most rounded athletic country on the planet. Let's see what China does in the winter games...

How many golds did china get in track and field? I didnt see them get any in the coverage I watched. They know they can't beat the USA in real sports like basketball, soccer, baseball, track, golf, swimming so they focus their attention on dumb obscure events. Badminton, diving, ping pong and they dominate those bc nobody else takes those events seriously. In my opinion badminton and ping pong shouldn't be Olympic "sports" those are recreational gag events like washers and cornhole. Nonetheless those weightlifting medals they win are legit.

China dot zero gold medals on the track. Get rid of weightlifting and ping pong and Japan would be ahead of China in gold medals.

Chinese have a decided advantage in weightlifting. Short, small dicks and tiny arms.

The US is still far ahead in the overall medal count, just no the gold medal count. It’s not just the number of people though, there are other large countries such as India that aren’t doing well at the Olympics. The Chinese government is villa but they are very well organized.

USA should pass chink in total golds. Still have a basketball and volleyball gold matches then 3 boxing gold matches. China is done in the clubhouse already. USA is charging up the back nine. Here we come baby. We get this wnba gold and all we have to do is split the remaining gold matches to pull ahead. This was a down year for USA too. Only 1 gold from mens track. USWNT fukked us in soccer and Biles meltdown cost us 2 golds minimum overall. China is weak. Can't even beat USA in a down year. Bunch of tiny peckers.

Wow that ended wayyy closer than it should have. The USA lost every gold match after the volleyball gold win. 0 for on the boxing gold matches otherwise USA would've been into the 40s in golds. This was one of the worst performances by USA in several events. Only 1 gold in mens track. USWNT and Biles both layed an egg as locks. USA still won overall though easily and golds barely. It shouldn't have been that close though. China way overachieved in diving and weightlifting. Record wins for them. 88 medals for china on 8/8 date.
