Alex Cora should be considered for Manager of the Year. Management gave him chicken s#it players and somehow he made chicken salad. But the decline is on. Even with Chris Sale coming back what is your playoff starting rotation? Sale, Evanoli, Rodriguez?
But that's what I like about Cora. He can see the diamonds in the rough. Three scruffs in the outfield. He finds a lead-off hitter in Hernandez.
Complete trust in Barnes as his closer. But a trade for Kimbrall should have been a no-brainer for red Sox Management. Adding Kimbrall would have been a double slap in the face of the White Sox who are now instantly favorites to win the AL.
Instead Red Sox fans are stuck with Schwarber on the IL with a hammy. No doubt this guy can hit. Always room for a RH bat with power. Maybe they can hide him in LF or platoon him at 1st base with the rookie Dalbac?

I just think that the trading deadline is a chance to get both star players you need and keep those star players away from your competition.

The Red Sox were neither Buyers or Sellers. They were nobodies.

Very weird for a First Place Team to act.

        They don’t have enough

Most likely Tampa or Houston will be in the World Series

Red Sox must have a ton of faith in their Rookies...

What if Chris Sale comes back and is Chris Sale? Schwarber is a nice bat. They have tons of offense. How many times have we seen the likes of Kershaw and other all star arms get to the post season and get shelled? Look at some of the post season heroes for World Series teams? Baseball is a crapshoot. It’s not the NBA. Remember when Cody Ross led the giants offense to a title? Red Sox have plenty to win it. Not saying they will but they are just fine.
