Nice to see Joey at 37 finally hunting fastballs like he normally does bases on balls.

A Class Act that would have fit into the Big Red Machine.

Reds fanatic and loving every minute of it!! Its going to be tough to tie/beat the record of 8 straight though?
Citi Field might be the hardest place to homer in mlb? He needs 2 more to tie, but is DeGrom pitching?
Carlos Carrasco tonite. 1st start of the year and then relievers after probably 4 innings. He might have a good shot for 7 games in a row!

I was just a kid, but I think Tony Perez came up as a 3B. Pete back to LF, Foster to RF, and Griffey to CF. Cesar Geronimo becomes a defensive replacement

I still gotta go with Larry Walker as best Canadian but Joey Votto is in the conversation for sure.

No way. Coors ruins any hitters reputation. Walker only had 1 Votto type year in Montreal

Rich Hill is going to be tough. lefty with a big looping slow curve Joey is 1 for 10 off him (single)
He's going to try for the fences. We do know that!!! I would bat him leadoff. Why not?

Joey just put one off the top of the RF wall....less then a foot from tying the record
They're going to have to get busy to get him another at-bat

Been involved in tons of Reds game, never saw him come through in a big spot. Takes the fastball right down the middle on the first pitch. Had 0 confidence that he would come through, and he proved me right.

Wow, what a shit bum, huh?
Couldn't even hit a homer in eight straight games (even though he just missed by a foot)
Scrub, designate him for assignment.

Votto sees the ball very clearly right now and the pitchers keep dishing him meatballs to hit. They do not use the split finger anymore like they used to. Pitching fundamentals are not taught properly in new pitchers.
