In fairness to the NBA player, why SHOULD they care? Take a guy like Holiday. Played a long playoffs, wins Finals, attend the parade (I think), then jet off to Japan to prep for the Olympics.

I agree about the college players. B4 they brought the pros in, the USA had some nice rosters. Effectively the Coll Bask All-star team. Didn't always win. But they were honored to be on that team.

Majerus coached various teams. NBA and NCAA, of course. But he also volunteered to coach Paralympics and Special Olympics. He said that THOSE athletes displayed the most pride by far.

But then they will blame the NBA for making them play games on back to back days. Just imagine having to work two days in a row. Such a hard thing. Then again they can take the night off so that family that spent $500 plus can go to game and dad can try to explain to them that they superstar guys needed to rest. What league out of the 4 major sports do players regularly take games off besides the nba?

People sort of forget his start as the Spur coach. He fired Hill and moved down to take over the team:

The DRob injury couldn't have worked out better. Spurs effectively tanked the season, set up the draft pick for Duncan. David Robinson came back from injury, Duncan was a rising star, team was set up to win.
