100s - not unless big shopping or casinos.
50s - these just aren't popular anymore. i don't think they are in general circulation?
20s - the primary bill, the one by which you gauge what to take when leaving the house.
10s - used to mean something. good to have 1-2 though.
5s - usually no more than 3.
2s - don't see these much anymore. never really caught on. still got one.
1s - try to keep 4, so don't have to break a 5 or 10.
Quarters - aim for 2 or 3.
Dimes - great lightweight coin. sadly, not worth much anymore. 3-10.
Nickels - 2-4, just for change purposes
Pennies - 1-9 to pay the cashier full up and get nothing back.
Silver Pesos - can get you out of a jam.

Good unless their is a problem in the store with something electrical or computer related.

I only carry $50s. $100s a lot of places wont break them, especially small stores and gas station. $1s, $5s, $10s and $20s worthless now due to inflation. Wipe your a$$ with those small bills. A pizza is $24 now used to be $11 couple years back.

I'll always have a couple of tens or twenties in my wallet just in case I'm at the news stand and want to buy a sports magazine or something.
And you always need a couple of dead presidents in your wallet in case you want to duke a baggage handler a sawbuck for helping you out.
Always with me on my person, like 40 to 80 bucks.

I just checked my wallet.
Two major plastic thingies two twenties, a five, and a singleton for a total of 46 bones.

46 dollars in bills, 2 major plastic thingies that we use instead of cash, my drivers license and a few business cards.
Oh, and a picture of my two JRT's and me and my wife on my wedding day.

In my spare bedroom/office at home the desk drawer hidden has a couple of hundy.
Just in case.

Plastic is oh so convenient, bust cash is still king.
Plus paper bills don't leave a paper trail.
