I clearly recall 70% of sbr saying "pitching beats hitting, Mets have the best pitchers in the league, etc, etc" and I, who don't really know too much about baseball, just saw the lineup and said, I don't care how good your pitching is, when your number 7 hitter is the number 5 hitter on most playoff teams, then you are at a huge advantage. One player can't dominate baseball. It's gotta be all all 9 hitters in the lineup. I will take hitting over pitching any day of the week. And I don't mean just power hitters I mean guys who can just chip away, 2 outs, so what, you chip away, single, single, single. All day.

Disagree there, but was the entire Mets pitching staff better than KC's pitching staff?
No, when factoring in the six men bullpen staffs from each side the *overall* team pitching was equal.
Remember now, Cueto was *unhittable* in the postseason, and Volquez was solid.
Now factor in that once in a lifetime bullpen, did NY really have the better pitching.
