For sure. Winning the WC is so difficult. But I still think it can be done for Messi. Messi got to the finals and he should have won that game, even if he had the inferior team. So that was a massive loss on his career. He's obviously (to me) the goat, but having that one WC would have ended the entire debate forever. I hope he gets one next year. Argentina's key pieces are super young. Romero is going to be one of the top 5 defenders in the world in 2 years. And Martinez will be one of the best forwards/strikers. I like Belgium if healthy, France if there is no more beef, and Argentina for the WC. Those, right now, after seeing all these teams play and projecting potential at full health, are who I think are the best teams. Argentina is clearly the best team in south america, they played terrible today and still won.
I don't think Italy and England will win the WC. Brazil gonna be favored as usual. They won't win. Not with this squad. Spain has some good players, they need a striker.
