The trend continues: the Suns will get the Bucks without their star....

Bucks played well without Giannis this year. They will be locked in for Game 5 ( ala the Hawks tonight), then it will be just a matter of winning one of the last two.

    Unreal.

He is done with that series now. He got 6 games. That's all he wanted. 5 would have been awful. Now he might get 7.

Hawks went from catching +9.5 at home to only +2.5 on the road. Bizarro world.

6 got him a Saturday game. He was sweating the idea of not having a Friday Saturday or Sunday game

Yeah now we get to hear about Chris Paul’s journey and what an upstanding guy he is even though he’s a giant prick

                          Suns.

For a couple of reasons (only thing that scares me a bit is Holiday and Tucker - and this was before Giannis went down). Tucker is such a good, tough, post-season player to have, IMO. Holiday is just solid,- the kind of leader I like -- and not the type of guy you have to worry about ( aka, playing as a lesser version of himself for a whole series).

I honed in on the Suns a couple of weeks ago: I had my doubts until about early June....

But Christ Paul hit a certain type of rock-bottom (with the Covid). I have seen that with perennial all-star chokers before; it seems like what they need to get over the hump, whether it be in an individual game (football mainly) or a series of games or other random events.* These aren't always easy to diagnose because chokers and players like Chris Small can choke seemingly forever, but I do see the Covid things as a certain rebirth and second life. In a sense, it is a way to take their minds off the choking and just play...Think Lebron with the Draymond incident....I thought I saw it with Andy Murray and Peyton Manning as well...

*Could be a team that chokes a lot, too...

That's one reason, but it started earlier than that...

In the quarterfinals, I looked around, and without a Lebron or a Kobe, or a fully stacked- Draymond-led and Kerr coached, Warriors, I said to myself "damn-it if one of these beta's aint gonna win a title." I was not happy about it, so I started examining things and started crossing out which less-than Alpha's I simply could not see winning.

I started with Durant (sans Warriors) and Embid and Simmons (It wasn't his jump shot I was worried about)
Jazz didn't have enough, but no disrespect to Spider ( yes, disrespect to Gobert).

I kept looking at Booker and thinking he was young enough to perhaps not know any better and B: did not have a resumé or tartar build-up being a loser like some of these other guys.

Bucks were my worry from the East and I was willing to ride with the Suns or Clippers - so I took the West to win the NBA title as my future of choice because I did not like the number I was getting on the Suns ( F me)....Btw, I don't like Kawhi (can't stand his injury MO actually), but when the Clippers were hitting, I thought they were the best team this year. I don't watch a ton of basketball, but some of the enduring memories stuck in my head were Paul George ( on the Pacers) in the series v the Cavs and Kawhi when he won his ring and other moments on the Clippers.

So Suns, I am sticking with the Suns, even if Tucker and Holiday have a bit of that championship feel to me...

I realize they have to be the favorite at this point in time....and thus, I am not saying much here...
