Fixed odds betting on horse races in New Jersey was unanimously approved by both houses earlier this week and the bill has been sent to Governor Phil Murphy, who is expected to sign it shortly. Once he does, the state’s thoroughbred and standardbred racetracks will be allowed to offer fixed odds betting on their products.

Gold the addition of fixed odds on the races is an attempt to grow the volume and increase the purses.

They want to emulate Australia and try to get the growth that happened their with fixed odds.

Online article says that Monmouth hopes to offer fixed betting for the Haskell. It will only be offered on W_P_S and only to NJ residents. Exactas etc will stay pari-mutual for the time being
