chip shortage. The chip is the like the processor or hard drive for the computer systems in the vehicles. This is across the country and all manufactures are struggling with these problems

We have a brand new vehicle that was supposed to be released in april, that still hasn't even been shipped yet from the factory

the only way to guarantee a vehicle is custom ordering which takes 2-3 months, not too bad. But lots are empty right now.

i've been joking for about 6 months about inventory getting low and low, but about 3-4 weeks ago, it was code red this is not a drill

factories being shut down due to covid of course started the problem. Then the demand for electronics went up since people were all at home. Same chips that go in other technology went before going into cars. Now the demand is way higher than the output that they can produce
