To my point above every nhl playoffs I’m almost spot on with my playoff predictions. I missed one when the sharks didn’t make it over the blues but I got Boston right that same year. I remember when people shit on me when I said murray was the perfect goalie to get Pittsburgh a cup in the playoffs. He got two. I predicted Tampa to win the cup last year in the first round and said they were better without stamkos, got shit on for that too.
Capitals also predicted they would win it all after they beat Pittsburgh.
And this year Montreal which I got laughed at for. My point to this I may screw up on the nba in here but my nhl predictions in the playoffs are normally right on. Gotta understand playoff hockey to really know how these will go and many on here don’t. The shiny toys don’t win in the end

I won nice on TB last year too pre-playoff future. Once they beat Columbus I was very confident. Had the Blues going into semis to win it all too. And well, I have someone this year that I caught onto a little late like the Blues....I think people laugh/laughed at the Habs because of their poor record and they don't make the playoffs under normal circumstances. That's most of it. They caught fire against the Leafs down 3-1 and have been solid since. Sometimes, its not necessarily what you say about the shiny toy thing (i.e. Pitt had shiny toys and won 2 in a row, Ovechkin/Oshie, Tb has Pointe/Kucherov). I disagree about main players getting the cup.

However, I think a lot of it is catching fire at the right time and playing their best hockey.......those are the teams that can make a run.

I understand your point but I don't agree with you. The Habs are the greatest team in NHL history. The islanders have a great history. Sure the teams don't exude flashiness but that would be a good series for a true hockey fan.

Looking at it that way you are right, the most storied canadian team against a new york team is tasty

The NBA and NHL playoffs probably should only be 8 teams but that would never happen.

At a few other places so far Vegas 55 Habs 45. I'm liking this less and less myself. Might be getting way more action on the Habs tonite being they are at home and won decisively last game. Watch the line closer to gametime. I might fade betting the side in this one but time will tell. Habs close to a live dog would make it a danger-zone play for me.

If the Islanders beat TB, they are better than Vegas or Habs IMO. Doesn't mean they win the series....just sayin'.
