Delle was hurt last year. He was shelved but I saw him working out with Love and Larry Nance. He looks like he put on a few pounds but he can still go. He's a solid defender but I'm not quite sure he'll be ready in time?

Oh, it's going to be fun to watch. I'm just not so sure Dame shooting from the logo is a solid strategy. NBA players are usually not too well versed on the Olympic rules. I hope we win all our games in blowout but my head tells me they are going to get pushed in a couple of games.

That 3 pt line in the olympics is like a midrange jumper in the nba lol. I think the olympics court is smaller, US gonna have a huge advantage cause Lillard can pull from 35. Even pulling from 27, that's a normal 3 for him, that's signifcantly behind the 3 pt line in the olympics I believe. More spacing this way. Other teams won't be able to do this.

The Euro and Latin American players have full seasons too. It's an honor to represent your country at the Olympics and not a chore. When the Dream Team went to Barcelona to play in 1992 people were lining up the streets to see them play.

To me, American NBAers seem ill-suited to an event which is based upon sportsmanship. All that preening & chest thumping they do while drilling a hapless team like Tunisia by 70 is just totally against the spirit of the games. They don't get it at all.

World Cup is a much better tournament. 32 teams, lots of challenges. You really have to work for gold at the World Cup.

Kevin Love only made the news this season because he didn’t care enough about basketball to inbound the ball after a made basket. His head wasn’t in the game as a professional basketball player, team leader, or teammate. Let’s not get into actually putting the ball in the hoop, stopping someone from scoring, or playing winning basketball. I actually think dealing with depression is the only reason he made the team. A depression ambassador.

Like anything in this world, the Olympics is, and always will be, about winning. You don't go to the Olympics to share in the sports journey with people all across the world, you go to the Olympics to bring home gold for your country.

Of course KLove would obliterate most of us on the basketball court BUT there's several other guys more deserving IMO. If you want diversity, Like I mentioned previously, how about Zach Collins?? Brook Lopez, Sabonis, JJ Reddick, Herro or Heurter? I could see if Love was some sort of player/coach that could help the young guys but he's too introverted to even do that. Is he an Ambassador? Perhaps but more for mental health, which is a good thing but I can think of a lot of guys more deserving that spot. Maybe team USA asked a lot of people and were told no?

No such thing as amateurism in sports anymore. Usain Bolt makes over $20 million a year and he's retired. Simone Biles makes millions, which she should. Naomi Osaka made $55 million last year in tennis. Of course we want to see stars. Maybe you want to see some no names but the masses want to see superstars. Amateur hockey, soccer players? Hecks no. Swimming? Can you really name 5 top swimmers? I know Caleb Dresser because he's a Gator and Simone Manuel because she's from Houston. I really can't think of too many others, which is why I'm not setting my DVR to swimming. USA basketball will make more money for the Olympics than the entire swimming events of all countries. Do you really think the Olympic committee want us to send no named college kids? Heck no.

Any top Olympic athlete has sponsors that pay them to wear their apparel. True capitalism. The only people getting screwed in sports are the college players but that will soon change.

Isn't the Olympics supposed to be the best? Where are you getting that it should be for amateurs? What does that prove? What defines amateurism? The Russians putting their athletes up in the best housing, the best food, the top science or some US athletes eking out a living by getting paid by sponsors.
Plus, where are you going to find amateur athletes? Grade school? Kids are getting paid in middle school across the globe...

Lol no one around the world is gonna tune in for name names. The Olympics is the biggest stage and you want to see superstars who are the best at their craft. If I want to watch high school basketball I can go down to the local high school and watch a 20-16 final score game. If I want to see a guy run a 100 m dash in 11-12 seconds, I can do so at a nearby high school or college.
