seriously though, the thought is to obstruct a clear inbounds pass as much as possible.

if they don't guard the inbounds guy and he passes easily to a guy with a clean look and he buries it, then people would ask "why not guard the inbounds guy?"

That's a tough one. Logic says to guard the inbounds so they don't get an easy pass but an extra defender might help deter the pass. Most coaches are going to guard the inbounds based on stats but this game won't help that. The biggest issue is that you should know that they were looking for a lob to Ayton. Even Mark Jackson called that. Zubak should have stayed under the basket. No need to go out and guard Ayton anywhere else on the court. I kinda like going to a pseudo zone there and put Cousins and Zubak in the paint. Hindsight is 20/20. Monty Williams is a pretty good coach. That was a fantastic call. All set up by Paul George's choke job on the free throw line.

I can't go back on my dvr after sportcenter started but the Clippers didn't even complain. Clippers got the benefit of a lot of whistles. That Pat Beverly play where he hit the ball off of Booker is never overturned. That should have been Suns ball as Beverly knocked it out but slow motion is like the NFL catch. If you slow it down enough you can make a lot of things look different than what it seems. George played a good game but lost it by going 5 for 10 from the free throw line.

I’m not looking for reasons they lost I’m just looking for transparency. I want to see the zoomed in version of that. It should be on the internet somewhere. I find it very strange they don’t show the replay there.

Absolutely something to worry about. Suns realize the Clippers have no resistance in the paint and little at the rim. The last two shots they took were a perfect example. Booker took that ft line jumper with a defender on him and 3 guys around the 3 point arc we’re wide open. Dallas and Utah, Utah especially, would of kicked out to a 3pt shooter thinking it’s a higher % shot. The final dunk of the game was also a perfect example of their understanding of how to attack the Clippers. Dallas or Utah would of ran some type of play where a shooter came off a screen and taken a deep jumper. Clippers are frauds. They are lucky to even be playing in this round.
