San Francisco / Bay Area Posters ?

I love the Tenderloin. I used to go to the Union Square sports bar on Mason and Eddy street. Ellis is the heart of the loin.

Union Square Sports Bar... what??? During pre-Covid I would hang out there Thurs - Sat and sometimes Mon. I was that guy hanging out the corner near the front door kicking back and yelling at the tv screens. Hey, do you remember Brian, lead bartender, and Jessica, bartender? How about the local "Norm" guy named Darryl? My friends and I would go there for happy hours and then head over to Gold Club and/or Hustler. I swear that we ran into a petite Latina dancer at Hustler who used to be a bartender at USSB.

SF is great! We used to go to King of Thai in North Beach (been closed several years now, changed to a different thai place, and later Tempest bar guys bought the building and made it into a new type of bar). Yeah, it was a thai bar/restaurant in the heart of Italian neighborhood but it had a great cheap ass happy hours from 2-7p. That was actually our go to get f-up before going to the strip clubs. It was like a 2-story frat/bar place. Then we stumble around SF and if we wanted late night action, then head to or back to USSB.

Oh man, I do miss watching idiots shoot up and taking a dump right in front of you and they'll look mad as if we're invading their privacy (huh??). Before Black Thursday (crackdown on those asian "massage" parlors) I got so f-up and had to take a dump that I went into one and sat on the toilet for what seems like an hour. The ladies were knocking on the door and I'm slurring my words that I'll be right out. I finally got out and gave them $120 w/ $20 tip. The most expensive dump I ever had... lol.


Anyway, I've been avoiding SF but we're going there this weekend. Is there another bar that similar to USSB? Something sleazy and divey but had the sports bar theme/feel to it?

I can't recall Charlie, but then again a lot of names are slipping my memory. What a coincidence, went to VA Palo Alto for walk-in for covid vaccine today and afterwards stopped by liquor store and ran into Daryl. He works at VA. He said some of the old USSB are going to 460 Larkin. He called it Moe's but I drove by before going home and didn't see any signage. Was planning on stopping by tonight but wanted to play it safe with the vaccine. Anyway, heading out to SF tomorrow for the Bay Bridge Series so need to chill.
