Go on google, it is world wide news. Vietnam has a new strain that is airborne. It is chaos and scary here. During the war, they had loudspeakers in every part of the city warning them about the war and to stay safe etc. There are loudspeakers from 5am to 12am 7 days a week telling people to not go outside. It is a scary situation here. I had a flight to leave to go back home to Santa Barbara last week and my flight got cancelled , there were no countries taking transit from Vietnam. You can book a ticket online but then the airline will email you and say it has been cancelled. As of of now I can only go through Singapore to get back home but it is a mess at their airport. Two week ago there were 13 hospitals in Hanoi doing Covid tests for travel, you get a test and a travel certificate saying you are fit to travel for $60. So many hospitals are completely shutdown here now due to outbreaks. Now there is only 1 hospital doing the covid tests and certificate for $565.00 but it is hard to get an appointment. Go on you tube, check out what is going on.. they are also deporting tens of thousands of foreigners here and also not renewing their ****'s . I am here the legal way, I have a residence card, they can't mess with me, but most people here do not have what I have. It is a mess here, people getting kicked out of the country left and right.
There are 100 million people here and only 1 million have been vaccinated.. There is no vaccine here ,they keep buying the astra and pfizer but it never gets delivered.. They are making their own homegrown one as well but it is still in trials.. it is a mess now and I want to come home until it gets better but I don't know if I can get out of here. I asked my embassy for help and they said they will not offer any assistance. They told all Americans to leave at the start of the pandemic and if we chose to stay we are on our own and have to go by Vietnamese law and camps when the put us there. If someone has covid, they take you to a camp, you do not get to go home. Also , all it takes is one person to have covid and they shut the whole building down.. google everything its chaos here now.

Jeez, in between my two shots I was working side by side/traveling with my cousin who ended up very sick...I think the first shotsaved my ass

I appreciate it. It’s sucks man because this is home. I’m a resident here. I don’t want to leave. I plan to live here for 30+ years or more. In integrated into the society , I barely speak English anymore. I’ve been to 24 countries. Vietnam is the coolest place I’ve ever been and lived. Especially the North where I am. I’m not into the south. But when something like this happens , I need to do the responsible thing. I want the vaccine. I’ll come back to Vietnam when things are bette.
