Polo, we need u to do some investigative work. How much of this has to do w/ substancing of the balls?

One basic premise in professional sports. If a player can gain an edge AND have a low probability of being detected...he will try to gain the edge.

I wouldn't be surprised if nearly 100% of pitchers are applying an invisible substance to balls this year. If that's the standard, you'd have to be MUCH better than avg to survive without.

chucky, i am kind of a ball expert. my porn addiction comes in handy here. it seems like rotation of the balls has increased. combine that with a dead ball this year and it is a perfect storm.

guys who hit 330 ft homeruns before are now hitting 290 ft long fly outs. guys who hit line drives for doubles before are now hitting weak liners easily caught.

No-no's against the Mariners should come with an asterisk.

                Salud. Something is going on.

I'm of the opinion that fans need to know what they're watching is on an even playing field. I'm not cool w/ no-hitters every week.

i am not either. really kills the value.

also, too many pitchers with low era's now.
they definitely deadened the ball cause they said it. did they deaden it too much?

Combine that with these upper cut swings... these clowns no longer know how to swing level

                        not at all.

judge never adjusts his swing for the low pitch/strike. stanton is similar. for stanton unless the ball is a perfect strike his swing cannot hit it.

Kershaw was saying that the seems on the ball are more pronounced and easier to grip. It’s really helping pitchers that utilize spin a lot
