Ok I will not get punked on this thread. Let's compare career stats with Kevin Garnett and Pau Gasol during their primes.

    - Gasol had a higher shooting percentage during his prime.

    - Their career scoring numbers were almost identical.

Compare for yourself don't take my word for it.

Pau Gasol career stats - https://www.basketball-reference.com...gasolpa01.html

Kevin Garnett career stats - https://www.basketball-reference.com...garneke01.html
I am not positive that anyone was saying you are dead wrong with this assessment. Your original post was that Kobe wouldn't have won titles without Pau. Kobe won 3 titles (in a row) 7 years before Pau came over....

Keep in mind...I could not stand Kobe, and I hate the Lakers. So no bias from me...

Nobody cares about the basketball hall of fame because they let people in, it’s also one of the few ball of games that includes college and prop.

Pau Gasol never won a single playoff game before he teamed with Kobe.

            Not one.

KG was in the WCF, he was an MVP, he was 1st team all nba. List goes on.

Kobe actually asked to play with KG, and it didn't work, so they brought in Pau.

Kobe and KG would have won 3-4 straight titles.

Boston only won that ring because of KG.

They made 2 finals. And the year they ddin't make the finals, KG was injured in the playoffs.

Garnett lost in the first round of the playoffs 7 straight years. Gasol was on a garbage expansion team. Garnett couldn’t beat Duncan so he ram away to the East.

KG had the worst teams bro. Duncan literally had some of the best players of all time on his teams. The moment KG went to a team that had some hall of famers, he went to 2 finals in 3 years.

KG also single handedly went to the west finals.

Didn't even have to do with Duncan either. The West teams were absolutely stacked. Kobe and Shaq. Webber and the Kings were absolutely loaded. Spurs. PHX was loaded in the mid 2000s, absoultely loaded.

^^ Pau was a solid big man. Just as worthy as the HOF as Garnett IMO.. Career numbers and stats are very close in every category..

Pau only needed Kobe to win the championship while KG needed Paul Pierce and Ray Allen to do the same. Lakers beat the Celtics in their last match up in the finals to put a stamp on it.. Pau outplayed Garnett as I remember.

KG was all flash and hype during his career, Pau Gasol was just consistent, worked well in the Laker triangle offense and put up the numbers also on stat sheets night in and night out..

Wrong, the Minnesota team that got to the conference finals had plenty of talent. The problem with your argument is if you watched Garnett against Duncan straight up Duncan owned him, and it wasn’t close, Garnett was too skinny, he couldn’t score inside which is why he wasn’t a superstar until later in his career when he developed a good jump shit.

Duncan did not have all time great players in his teams, which is why the Spurs win nothing before he got there. Robinson we well past his prime, Ginobli wa good but certainly not an all-time great, and Parker was in his prime a great but not all time great player. Parker was always hurt late in his career too. Leonard was never a superstar when he played with Duncan, that was early in Leonard’s career.

I do think stats don’t tell the whole story here since Garnett was the better defender and they don’t keep as many defensive stats, goat is overrating Garnet though. Garnett couldn’t even get out of the first round of the playoffs 7 straight years.

Pau will easily make the hall of fame as well. And btw, ray allen and pierce combined aren't even as good as Bryant.

Pau only did as well as he did in that finals because Bryant morphed him into that. Pau was a straigth pussy in 2008 and Kobe literally transformed him by himself. Pau was Kobe's personal project. He went from never winning a single playoff game in his career to wnning 2 titles.

Duncan dominated Garnett in the heads up matchup regardless of who their teammates were. Gasol was a better fit with Kobe than Garnett because Gasol was a great post up player, Garnett was never a post up guy like Gasol, Garnett was of course the better defender.

Sprewell in his prime was as good as Ginobli, and Cassell was a solid player. Duncan did have better teammates, but, again, Duncan dominated Garnett in the heads up matchup, and it wasn’t close. Garnett couldn’t even get out of the first round for 7 straight years.

You know jibby. He is a rich healthy wine drinking Italian who lives in Santa Monica. Thankfully he posts here with us degenerate losers.

Yup, well stated. Garnett was never a post up player for a big man.
