Knights look tempting as home dogs but that would be fading steam

MacKinnon is back for the 'lanche and Grubauer gets the start in net, whereas Knights going with Lehner in net. Pacioretty and Reaves are both GTD's for the Knights as well. i'm guessing these factors are the cause for the 'lanche steam?

Knights looking to clinch Presidents Trophy tonight. Some would say doesn’t mean much but it does to them. Just came from the practice facility (my kids play hockey there) and the place is buzzing. Should be a good game. I’m small on Knights.

the flipside to that is the Avalanche get 2 home games after this against the Kings, so (correct me if i'm wrong) if they win tonight they have a good chance of overtaking the Knights who only have 1 left at San Jose

You nailed it though... didn’t trust the backup. I think the last game he played he got throttled late by Minnesota too.

any word as to why Fleury didn't start tonight? i get that they've been rotating him with Lehner every other game for a while now, but i figured they'd let Fleury go again in this spot to try and clinch. they had yesterday off too, so it kinda surprised me they stuck with the script.

Not sure. Been rotating them. I figured they would ramp Fleury up a bit more too. He will have to play back to back games in the playoffs. I think he’s the best player they have but hell, I know him and the coach aren’t the best of buddies.
