Daily MLB Weather concerns Wednesday 5/5/21

Absolutely no weather concerns on today's MLB early games.
Go ahead and fire away.

I'll be watching only two night games.
1) We have rain moving towards Boston which, at the moment, may put that game in postponement danger or certainly affect game time start.
2) Wind at Wrigley is currently blowing IN from RCF at 9mph. Will keep you advised as we get closer to game time.

Will be giving the daily weather concerns as my contribution to my SBR bros.

Should also add that although it is currently raining in New York City, the Astros @ Yankees game should not be jeopardized because the rain is expected to be gone by 4:30 local time, some 2 1/2 hours before the scheduled start.

• GREEN : CHW @ CIN - Winds blowing out to center at 10mph.
• YELLOW : SFG @ COL - A few showers/storms in the general area, chance for a delay, nothing more.
• YELLOW : HOU @ NYY - Light rain clearing early. They may need a late start to play dry, but the rain will be cleared an hour or two after lock (or earlier), so the PPD threat is low.
• GREEN : MIL @ PHI - Rain will have already cleared. Winds blowing in from left at 10-15mph.
• YELLOW / ORANGE : DET @ BOS - Pretty ugly day in Boston, we've got scattered showers all day long continuing through the evening. The rain will be on the downswing tonight, and isn't too impressive in forms of coverage or intensity by gametime hours anyways, but it still will be a bit wet. Last night in STL we saw a game get PPD'd for 0.01 inches of rain (official measurement), so while I think they likely just play through some showers, a PPD is on the table.
• YELLOW : TEX @ MIN - Very light rain clearing early. If they want to play fully dry they'll need a late start, but it's light enough that I think they just start on time and play ball.

I look at a couple of MLB weather sites in the morning. Thought it would make it a little easier for those who don't have a lot of handicapping time. At least it gives everybody an idea about any possible trouble games. Between this and watching the stock market it keeps me out of mischief while I am retired.

Weather Update:

Wrigley wind is now blowing IN from LF and has lessened to 7mph.

No delays expected at Yankee Stadium. We are Good-To-Go.

Still a possible late start at Fenway in Boston. Expected light rain at game time. PP always a possibility depending on how much water that outfield can hold.
