Back in the day it was +100 and ties win and books didn't inflate the main lines to avoid key numbers. Wong Teasers $$ at ABC Islands.

Define margin and then I'll explain what I'm talking about here.
But I'm not sure what you mean by margin given the context of the sentence. Surely you don't mean vig or commission, then your sentence might not make sense unless you are playing at a shop that is shorting the parlay payout or talking about the lack of reduced juice in parlays.
After all, a 3 pick parlay giving you the industry standard of 6-1 will have less commission or vig than betting the 3 plays by themselves at -110.
Nearly all bettors, professional and beginners alike, get this caluclation wrong. I made a thread on how to do it and quickly realized I was the only one who knew hot calculate the vig on parlays.
Posters kept posting a video of some guy named justin on a whiteboard where he incorrectly calcualtes the vig on parlays. Posters treated it like gospel though.
Like I've said for years...it's not that gamblers don't know things, it's just that everything they know is wrong. Often it's their egos that can't handle that fact that keep them from learning, and even keep them arguing pointless arguments.

That would not be very smart
130/230 = 56.5%

Yeah 56.5%. I need to win at least 56.5% to profit. If I win 60% of these bets, I make a profit.

So then why would you lay -130 ?
I guess you are just confusing gambling terminologies. To lay a bet means you're taking bets at -130

I said I'll lay. I am a bettor, obviously. We are bettors here, not bookmakers. Come on man. Maybe Asian terminology is different from American.

Asian, European, Antarctican, pretty much the entire world refers to lay betting as taking a bet. Also I'm pretty sure it's an American term as well and you're just mixing up the terms.
