there are hotels with sportsbooks you can go to around the state already. they are not convenient for everyone to get to or in places that huge populations would really go to for vacations.
Today, sports betting in New York remains limited to the four upstate casinos authorized to offer “sports pools” by the original legislation and two tribal casinos also located far from the city. Here are the places you can legally bet on sports in New York:

See this Joe. Not sure what the difference is between platforms and skins then.
The likely landscape of online sports betting in New York will be as follows:
Two licensed sports betting platforms
In total, a minimum of 4 skins, or sportsbooks, will be launched statewide
Revenue share with the state would range between 12% and over 50%

Del Lago is a joke, run by Draftkings but casino's hire the employees. Went there to gamble pre covid so I checked out sportsbook, lines were awful and teasers were -130 crossing the 3 and 7. No thanks.
Locals will continue to thrive, Coumo is so greedy to have lottery run it....what a joke, NJ won't get hurt by much once you see lines coming out -130 each way.

It’s obvious, they are scared that too many college kids could get involved in game fixing or betting on inside information.
I see their point. I know some kids who play on Syracuse teams and my son is good friends with them. I find out all kinds of info that is not made public. It’s very easy to pay off a college kid to throw 1 game. Yes, this can still happen with people betting offshore and people betting with bookies. But by not allowing them to place wagers at legal casinos only minutes from campus cuts down on the frequency.
Its amazing to see so many college kids hanging out at Turning Stone, Yellow Brick, and Point Place. With the legal age being only 18, it’s turning these kids into compulsive gamblers at a young age. When I see these kids, it makes me sick to my stomach. They are unaware of the long road ahead in their lives if they continue gambling.
