So, I watched the NCAA Selection Show, and these guys were saying that they should have gotten an at large into the NCAA field of 68. So, they didn't. I go out to dinner, and come home and see they were the first team out of the NIT....

The nit this year has less teams and the regular season champions of shit conferences get auto bids normally. Kinda surprised they didn’t get in NIT especially because teams were turning it down. They were never even close for the ncaa tournament though

I can imagine belmont is a team many good teams dont want on their schedule early in the season its a no win situation for a bigger school. u beat them it doesnt move the needle, but if u lose to them it only helps them of course but doesnt hurt them if they lose to you.

I remember went to see Belmont play #12 UNC in 2013 at Dean Dome, Belmont was down double digit with little over 2 minutes to go and fans were filing out to parking lot. Belmont went on a furies of 3 pointers and beat UNC 83-80. UNC fans were celebrating in parking lot, not knowing what had happened.

It is a travesty of the whole system when teams like Belmont don't make it to the big dance. The committee puts teams in that the TV networks tells them to do for ratings. It's all about the ratings and not which teams deserve to be in based on play. Belmont could beat any team in the country if they let them in.
