Some batters have even said in the past they don't mind pitchers using pine tar because it gives them better control of the ball, meaning less hit-by-pitches. MLB rules deem pine tar illegal; Section 6.02(c)(4) of the rulebook states: "The pitcher shall not apply a foreign substance of any kind to the ball."

Rookie mistake. If he used spruce tar he would have been fine as it is not forbidden.

The kid has tremendous movement but also many younger pitchers who throw 3/4 at mid 80s can achieve similar effect. It is what blows out so many arms, it's almost similar to a screwball the way they came across the body w the trajectory and get the 2 seamer to run here in the footage.

But honestly those are all very poor at bats, terrible footwork by hitters, not 1 of them cleared the zone w the bat properly and there was absolutely zero weight distribution.

Those were HS hitters
