Exactly every shot you fire that doesn't eliminate the threat raises the threat so why don't you trade in the 38 special and 9mm and get the 45?

No, thankfully no shots were fired. Happened in the middle of the day in Sandy, Utah, which is a really good suburb area salt lake county. White SUV pulled up in front of their home, three guys get out, back pops up, and they start walking up their driveway. I am in living room (house is adjacent). I bolt up to office and grab my colt 1911 and MY sig p229 9 mm 17 + 1. When I come back down, they are working on the door. I make a lot of noise as I open door and they see me and tha I have one in each hand. They bolt for it and I get a partial on license plate.

Cops took over 30 minutes to arrive. Called my buddy and before I broke the news what of what happened, I said that he didn’t have to worry about what I was about to tell him, because his wife and two little boys (not even school aged) weren’t home (didn’t see their family vehicle in driveway). I’ll never forget him telling me that she was in fact home and that they dropped off their vehicle the prior night at a shop for some work.

That’s the story. They ended up catching the three guys a month or so later. Never had an incident until Utah, where I had three within 7 years.
