Drafkings Might Be Top Gaming Operator But This Is Concerning......
DraftKings now says it's the top iGaming operator in the US, but that flex-worthy title comes at a price:

DraftKings spent nearly $500M on sales and marketing in 2020 — that's ~80% of its revenue for the year.

It basically spent 80 cents for every $1 of sales it brought in.

Think: commercials, FB ads, and $500 sign-up bonus promos. While that helped it grow sales and users, DraftKings lost ~$844M for the year.

weren't they doing the same with DFS when their commercials were on every 2 minutes?

Draftkings is just flooding the market with early adverts while the stateside gambling is new. Once they get market recognition, they will curtail the budget. It is kind of like Budweiser's campaign in the 80's where the advertising budget was enormous so that the market share could be grown while the market is up for grabs.

You never get that chance to make that first impression again

This year is all about drawing in as many first time gamblers and existing gamblers

the commercials work cause people at work who are new to gambling always associate DK and fanduel as the go to sites. those like me who are already a degenerate amaze them when i tell them i bet offshore and send money offshore. they think i am tony montana with a cocaine connection in bolivia named sosa. i say how easy it is to do but people do not believe it.

draftstreet was the big time company in fantasy

draftkings came on and took them over

theyve been losing money ever since but clearly just building up to dominate the market

I bet we all think 844 million to obtain the majority of the available customer base in a brand new 300mil population marketplace looks like chicken feed when they next change hands.

Why couldn't SBR get any of that advertising money from DK? Could it be because of how much jj disparages all American sportsbooks as being second-rate compared to international books? I think that is the reason why.

According to simplywall.st, Draft Kings is currently unprofitable and forecast to continue to be unprofitable over the next three years. Their stock share as of now is selling at $66.71.

i recommended sbr get involved with fantasy long ago

and for a while, they did offer draftstreet or draftkings cash in the sportsbook

that ended, im not sure why...rumors are the fantasy sites didnt want involved with the offshore business

maybe it can be looked into again with the law overturned and states getting legalized

would be great to buy sportsbook cash for a site in the states

These jurisdictional issues were much more complicated when Trump was president, a lot of these new books didn’t know that Kansas City was in Missouri instead of Kansas, and Washington DC was often confused with Seattle Washington. Everything seems to be back on track now.

                                                        Concerning to who?

Draftkings is a 20 bil dollar company in its infancy.

How long did it take for Amazon to turn a profit.

They want to be the Amazon of gambling/sports.

Revenue/earnings far exceeded projections for 2020. Stock has more than tripled in the past year. They now have 1.5M customers that have signed on. This is a success story. Not one of concern.

You only get one chance to own the US market at the beginning stage. DraftKings has outplayed everybody.

None of the established US companies are going to be a player. They have all multi-million dollar 60-year-old CEOs that have no idea of what to do except buy somebody. There also is just not that much money to be made in sports gambling so it is just easier to buy something so you can say you have it.
