just for the hell of it I am now attempting to handicap NBA and college baskets first half only. you probably all know this and if not you will now. Villanova is a good team but they often struggle in the first half. In fact, the last time I checked they were only defeating (on average) all teams by less than 2.5 points in the first half.

I played against them again today first half only and if Butler covers I will take Villanova in the 2nd half unless the number is ridiculous.

you might want to check out first half stats on many of these teams and find some way to exploit the line. It probably won't work but it will be fun.

only two games left and this system if it does work may implode during tournament time. but it is something to keep in mind for next year and attempt to see if it has any long term legs. but don't get excited if it does. I made that mistake more often than I want to mention

the book realizes this also, obviously. Butler at home and a "half" decent team winning by 10 and Villanova only getting 1.5. you think you have an edge and the book says...fck you.

since I am giving my shitty observations here is another one that is completely worthless because it is based solely on intuition and crap "I think" happened. meaning I have zero proof and no stats to back it up. in other words it is worthless. lol

it seems to me the line at half time of a game that seems way off is the team you should back. let's say the first half total of a NBA game is 101 and it should have been closer to 130. you look at the 2nd half total line and it seems really high considering the flow of the game. I take the over. intuition and nothing else. I would love to know the stats on something like this--long term stats.

Best thing to do is maybe look at opening line versus current and fade the public. Assume the house algorithm is right, and that you've bought a good number due to public $$$
