I don't think sports are rigged but in the case of basketball officials play a large part in the outcome of games so it's easy to see why people say the NBA is "rigged."

The three point rule saw to that.

back in the 60's if your team had a 14 point lead with 8 minutes left your chances were 90 percent to win.
Now if you are down double digits with 8 minutes left and you got a couple of Ray Allen, Joe Harris, Curry sharp shooter from distance types on the floor, you have a better than fighting chance to pull out the game.

That's the main reason the fans love the three pointer, gives your team a chance to pull a win out of their ass.

look at the devils yesterday. up 2-1 entering the 3rd and lose 4-3. playing defense as your offense never works.
